Our German Village Garden Club membership meeting will be held in the German Village Society Meeting Haus commencing at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 23rd
The April 23 Garten Club meeting (rescheduled from April 16) will begin with a presentation about the efforts being taken in German Village to protect our ash trees from damage and death due to the emerald ash borer. Last year, many ash trees in Schiller Park were treated and the prevention efforts are now spreading throughout the Village. Our guest speakers will be Joe Sulak, the City of Columbus forester, and Lindy Michael who chairs the Friends of Schiller Arboretum Fund. Joe and Lindy have been working with local residents and the German Village Parks, Public Spaces, and Community Events Committee to identify ash trees and propose treatment solutions.
In addition, Sara McNealey, Chair of Jazz and Juleps, and Linda Fried-man, Co-Chair of GartenMarkt will be reporting on what to expect at this year’s fundraising events. Mark your calendar today – May 11th and 12th is GartenMarkt weekend events! Bring a friend (member or not) and enjoy a great evening of fellowship. Social hour and refreshments follow the program.
